Through that which is seen: The Diorama and the Appeal of The Unreal

In the research, the full scale diorama functions as a portal for works and texts concerning simulations and simulated nature, the unreal, screen culture, the fourth wall, the flat surface vs. three-dimensionality, and the emotive qualities of ‘dead things’.

In spring 2020, Crouwers is an artist in residence at Residency Unlimited in New York. An artistic goal is to produce one or more augmented reality apps in function of the research.
