Specialist in contemporary photography, Danièle Méaux is a professor of aesthetics and art sciences at the Jean-Monnet University in Saint-Etienne. She directs CIEREC - EA 3068 there. She is the author of La Photographie et le temps (PUP, 1997), Voyages de photographes (PUSE, 2009), Géo-photographies. Une approche renouvelée des territoires (Filigranes, 2015) and Enquêtes. Nouvelles formes de photographie documentaire (Filigranes, 2019). She also published Anatomie d'une ville, with photographer Guillaume Bonnel (Filigranes, 2020) and Saint-Étienne: grammaire de formes with Eric Tabuchi, Guillaume Bonnel, and Jordi Ballesta (Filigranes, 2021).
