Joeri Verbesselt

PhD researcher

Joeri Verbesselt is a Belgian researcher, artist, and writer whose work bridges the fields of art, activism, and ecology. Holding master’s degrees in Audiovisual Arts and Art History, he earned a Doctorate in the Arts (2024) from the University of Leuven. His creative and scholarly pursuits focus on the human-animal relationship, aiming to combat nature amnesia—the collective forgetting of humanity's interdependence with the natural world. Currently, he is a Doctor-assistant in the Department of Art History at the University of Leuven.
