The Passing of Peter Downsbrough

We are in deep sorrow about the passing of Peter Downsbrough on Friday 9 August 2024. Peter Downsbrough was one of the most remarkable artists of his generation. For over sixty years he developed a rich and multifarious body of work in which he explored the relationship between time and space, between language and image, in a new and unique way. With his diverse and complex photographic practice, which includes single prints, series, postcards, collages, and books, he holds an important place in the history of the medium. The LGC will deeply miss him as a great artist and a wonderful person.
